Dreams - Gabor Szabo (1969)
Self-taught Hungarian guitarist Szabo made some great jazz records that don’t fit real well into the normal narrative.
If I have a criticism, it’s that most of the songs are a guitar-only intro followed by the full group. But the full group part comes a few minutes later than you’d like for nearly every track. When they finally get wound up, it’s great energertic post-bop jazz. It just takes a while to get there.
