Harmony In Ultraviolet - Tim Hecker (2006)

All of Hecker’s work is stunning, but this is one I especially like. there’s a blasted-out gorgeousness to all this. It’s fried and frazzled, but has resolved itself to a fuzzy other dimension. When you have this on, you exist somewhere out of time. The things you care about still matter, but it feels like they matter to someone slightly separate from you.

Not for nothing: the first two items in the “recommended if you like” section on this record are FLoating points and The Caretaker’s sprawling lament for lost memory, Everywhere At The End of Time.
