From The Lion's Mouth - The Sound (1981)

A record and a band who weren’t appreciably worse or less talented than some of their massively successful peers, but fate decreed that they weren’t to be rock stars.

Nobody would pretend it wasn’t a bit derivative of U2 and The Cure, but overall it’s a solid record with some great tracks; a pretty excellent footnote.

Tracks I Liked

Sense of Purpose - forceful and urgent

Skeletons - a wiry little spook fest

The Fire - A low-key banger

Uninvisible
Medeski Martin & Wood
