In 2018, McCartney was 76. No one would have blamed the man if he’d gone into an elder statesman role and just let people interview him about how great he had been 40 or 50 years before.
That’s not really how Paul rolls.
In addition to his slightly aged voice, always smart lyrics, and signature basslines, he’s also credited with guitar, drums, and keyboards across various tracks. The guy just loves to play and loves to create.
It’s touching on a sentimental level, but none of it would matter if the music wasn’t still fun and endaring.

Fuh You - a clever lyric that would have caused scandal in his prime, this becomes a cute pop concept.
