Because I'm Worth It - Inga Copeland (2014)
wiki regurgitation alert: Inga Copeland was half of an avant-whatever band Hype Williams, and now releases music as Lolina. In between she recorded several records under her own name.
Significantly different than than the Hype Williams music? Doesn’t seem to be but I don’t know either very well. For avante-garde, it’s actually quite accessible. The oddball beats and synths weave around pretty understandable pop structures, even though you wouldn’t mistake this for Carly Rae Jepsen.
It’s intended to be music for the “hypnogogic state,” that land of half-asleep, half-awake where weird things can happen.
