This record came out just ahead of the pandemic lockdown. I spent a lot of time with it in those early days, but I haven’t been back to it since.
Breathing Effect is a duo that does hybrid electronic / acoustic downtempo music really well. Heavy on atmosphere and vibes, the music is complex but never too demanding on the listener.
It sometimes soars and gets frenetic, but always settles back to the smooth basslines and
Heliotrope - a jazzy piano piece that gathers serious bass heft as goes along.
Shapes That Change Shape - does a fantastic job of building and then releasing back into calm
Memory Sequence - ethereal vocals to go with the ethereal music.
