Big Mess - Danny Elfman (2021)
Film guy Elfman used to be in a quirky, kind of gothy new wave band Oingo Boingo. This sounds more like an update on that (with support from Nine Inch Nails and Devo session types) than it does like his film scores.
If there’s a throughline, it’s that Elfman is an unapologetic weirdo, always restless and never afraid to create something that upsets people’s expectations.
