Suzi Ecto - Call Super (2014)

Here’s my pitch for Joseph Richmond-Seaton aka Call Super: what if Four Tet set out to make you nervous instead of blissful?

This album takes a lot of different approaches to make music that is pretty and unnerving at the same time.

There are great dollops of percussion in places, plus pulsing bass, horns, and synthy stabs and bloops.

The rhythms skitter about and change up multiple times in a song, while the calm undercurrent keeps moving onward.

Tracks I Liked

Dovetail - snappy snares

Sulu Sekou - undisturbed bass underneath everything else
