Friend And Foe - Menomena (2007)

It took me multiple listens to find a way into this, but once I did I really enjoyed it.

Noisy indie rock with a kind of chopped-and-screwed aesthetic. Several tracks sound like every band member is playing a different song at the beginning, but then the logic of the track becomes apparent and they settle into their weird but funky groove.

The heavy drum and bass patterns are punctuated in various places with horns, piano, and enough guitar skronk to re-float guitar magazines
